Having served in the public sector for almost a decade and having been an Entrepreneur for more than 15 years, I ventured into Business Consulting in the domain of Tourism, Human Resources and specific projects related to solutions for higher education faculty.

For almost two decades we have worked with Tourism Boards, Government  Agencies and  provided them Business Consultancy. The Projects included:

  • Tourism Road Shows

  • Trade Missions

Having been active in Industry Association and several Chambers of Commerce to provide insights on specific Business domains for our clients.Have jointly worked with client for Product Awareness and Marketing Road Shows of Foreign Government.

Our Team

Naresh Trehan, having started with the Insurance sector moved on to Travel trade. TFC Consultants is the Consultancy arm of Twenty First Century Travels Pvt Ltd. and has been providing consultancy on Tourism related areas, media activities, event management etc, with expertise in the area of Tourism derived from experience of over 30 years in the area of inbound and outbound Tourism and having handled thousands of travelers.

 

His deep relationship with the State of Sarawak,Malaysia agencies and its management had culminated in several   meetings for  their  Investment and Sales Mission in India.He was  engaged by the Sarawak Government Agency  to initiate,facilitate, engage with, and facilitate closure of a suitable MOUs’ in India.

Rajiv Jaiswal’s career spanned for 27 years in the Corporate world where he was responsible for creating Business strategy for growth. During this period, he has handled many functions such as sales, marketing, distribution, brand creation, implementation and communications. 

 

Over the last 14 years he has been a Consultant, Mentor and a Business Coach. He has been coaching and training businesses on setting up the right business processes that stimulate growth and sales.He has worked in several industries like PU Foam, Mattresses, Glass Hardware, Cereals & Sauces, Chocolate Butter Equivalent, Adhesives, Stainless Steel railings, Sugar, Specialized Furniture, Biotech and many other industries.In addition to Business Strategy he also assists in improving selling skills of internal teams and channel partners. 

 

He is an Engineering Graduate from the renowned Benares Hindu University – Institute of Technology (BHU-IT) with specialization in Metallurgy and a Master’s in Business Administration from Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University, specializing in Marketing. He is also a part of a network of Business Consultants – Cross Border Business Consultants (CBBC) who have consultants in more than 30 countries.

Setting up a Startup in Canada

Process, Payment timing, and estimated Program timing

Process Overview: 3 BASIC STEPS.

  1. Introduction- evaluate and feedback on applicants, intake interview and offer.  Normally takes about 2 weeks.

  2. GSA (Global Startup Accelerator)- Entrepreneurship training program and Business validation platform- (Total 45 hours of actual work) Flexible, self-paced program and done from home country.  Estimated time 3 Weeks- 8 Weeks. 1st Payment is made to Designated Authority..

  3. SUV/Incubation Program- This is where our Term Sheet is signed, and Incubation fees are paid.  We provide the Letter of Support, Commitment Certificate used to apply for the Clients Work Permit(WP) and Permanent Residency(PR) application. WP approvals normally take 5-16 Weeks.  Incubation starts and continues for 8 months.  PR decision is estimated to take 12-24 months by the IRCC.  2nd Payment is made to Designated Authority.

Detailed Breakdown

Step 1: Introduction (Total time 2 weeks)

  1. Receive applicants documents from agent

  • International English Language Testing Score (IELTS) General Exam showing Canada Language Benchmark Level 5.

  • Detailed Resume.

  • Copy of Passport Information Page.

  • One Page proposed Startup venture summary that clearly states the problem you’re solving, the initial customer segments, and the business model. 

  1. Early feedback on candidates fit for the program.  24 hours to get feedback

  2. Schedule applicants Intake Interview: 30-45 min interview between  Startup leader and applicants. Video Conference call.  Normally takes 7 days to schedule a convenient time.

  3. Decision as to whether we will work with the applicant- We will communicate to you as to the decision. 24 hours to get decision

  • Accept

  • Reject 

Step 2: GSA (Total time 4-10 weeks)

  1. Accepted into GSA entrepreneurship training program.  Pay GSA fees

  2. Once fees are received, we provide login information to applicants to the Platform so they can start working.  Access granted in 48 hours

  3. Start detailed discussions with the applicants chosen Immigration Counsel (RCIC). Start preparing immigration documents.

  4. Complete GSA and qualified Venture Report will be approved. It normally takes 3 weeks to 8 weeks for an applicant to complete GSA

 

Step 3: SUV/Incubation (Total time 7–14 weeks)

  1. Term Sheet is presented to Agent and applicant. 2 to 5 days after completed GSA

  2. Signed Term Sheet and deposit Full Incubation fees into the Designated Account.   Dependent on the client. Normally it takes 7 days to account for money transfer. Funds are non-refundable.

  3. RCIC and the applicant assemble immigration documents.

  4. Provide Letter of Support to RCIC and Commitment Certificate to IRCC.  2 to 5 days after funds land into our Account.

  5. RCIC Submit Canadian SUV Work Permit and PR application for processing. Applicant and RCIC control timing.  Should be within 2- 4 weeks of receiving Letter of Support. 

  6.  Work Permit approved by IRCC. Normally 5–16 weeks. 

  7.  Applicant travels to Canada and starts Incubation.  Normally within 4 to 6 weeks of receiving WP

 

Incubation/Venture development: (Total time 8 months)

  1. Applicant gets settled, Strategic planning meeting , opens corporate bank account, incorporates the business.  Should deposit capitalization money into account. Actively build/develop business while PR decision is processed. Applicant accumulate evidence of business activity as they proceed. IRCC estimate processing time for PR to be 12-24 months (We will provide updated LoS as needed and very basic even after our incubation term is finished.)

 

Total Cost the client needs to consider. (per venture)

$100,000 CDN ( + 5 % GST) - SUV  8 month Incubation fee. 

 

Other costs to consider

  • $30,000- $50,000 CDN estimated- Capitalization of Business- Not a fee paid to anyone but rather funds deposited into the clients corporate account.

  • Visa Fees/ Immigration Consultant
